:YoungersisterForalongtime,mysterysurroundedtheidentityofStanislavIanevski,theBulgarianteenagerchosentoplayQuidditchStarandDurmstrangTri-WizardChampionViktorKruminHarryPotterandtheGobletofFire.Over600kidstriedoutinthefirstroundofthecastingthattookplaceinSofiaonFebruary4and5.Approximatly50boyshadvideossenttoLondonforfinaljudging,butintheenditwasaBulgarianstudentlivinginLondonwhowontherole.Stan(ashe'ssometimescalled)wasnotaactorbeforelandingtherole.Hewas(likehissoon-to-bemoviecounterpart)knownatschoolforhisathleticskills.Andeventhoughhe'dheardthatGobletofFirecastingwasgoingonattheUniversity,hewasnotadramastudentanddidnotplanonauditioning.However,hewasspottedbytheHarryPottercastingdirector(FionaWeir)whilesigninginforregistration.ShetoldthedramateacherthatshewantedStantoaudition.Thedramateacherattheschoolspoketohimandtoldhim,sohewentandwasoneoffewaskedtoattendanactingworkshopatthestudio.Aftermissingtwoworkshopsafterhisinitialaudition(forschool-relatedreasons),hethoughthehadlosttherolebuthewasgivenathirdshotatitwhenhewasinviteddowntothestudioandwasfinallyofficiallygiventherole.Stan(unlikehissister)wasnotafanofthePotterSeriesbeforelandingtherole.Butafterbeingcast,hesays:"Iwatchedallthefilms,Ireadthebooks,andIfoundoutthatmyimpressionswerequitewrong".InJune1994,theactorwhowouldplayKrumhadhisnamereleasedtothepublic.LikemostofGobletofFire'snewfaces(whodidn'thavepreviousfilmworktotheircredit),evenafterhisnamewasreleasedattachedtotherole,imagesofhimwerenotreleased.TheninJanuaryof1995,thefirstpictureofStanislavIanevskiasViktorKrumslippedintopubliceye.ItwasaimagefromaHarryPottercalendar(thatreportedly,shouldnothavebeenreleasedyet).ButnowtheworldknewwhattheyoungmanplayingViktorlookedlike.Asforgettingonwiththecast,fellownewcomertothePotterset,RobertPattinson(whoplaysCedricDiggory)hasbecomegoodfriendsathim.Theyhaveevenbeenspottedtogetheroff-set.EmmaWatson(whoplaysHermione,theobjectofViktor'saffection)isreportedsayinghe's'verysweet'.
