another只能用语泛指的单数，即非特指的另外一个对象（三个以上中的任意一个）。如：another student（泛指另一个学生，单数）other则可用语泛指的复数和特指的所有形式（other前须加the）。如：other students（泛指另外一些学生，复数）、others（泛指另外一些，做宾语或主语）、the other sutudent（特指另一个学生，单数）、the other students（特指另外那些学生，复数）、the others（特指另外那些，做宾语或主语）。
