other,不单独使用，常与复数名词连用，意思是其他的（人或物）。Ask some other people。问其他人吧。泛指别的人或物时，用others，也在一定的范围内，但不是全部。Some are in the classroom, others are on the playground。一些学生在教室里，另一些在操场上。一定范围内两个人物，一个用one,另一个用the other。He has two brothers。One is a doctor。The other is a writer。他有两个兄弟。一个是医生。另一个是作家。一定范围内，除去一部分人或物，剩余的全部用the others。Some magazines on the shelf are in Chinese,the others in English。书架上的一些杂志是中文的，另一些是英文的。。
